This is my fourth year working in the Independent Learning Centre at Mark R. Isfeld Secondary. I assist students in taking online courses, from NIDES and other distance schools in B.C., within a regular timetable in a brick-and-mortar school. Prior to this, I taught English for 25 years. I am very interested in a blended/hybrid approach to teaching English, and I have been experimenting with this, within the ILC, over the last few years.

I am interested in discussing the benefits of having an ILC in place, for students, distance, and brick-and mortar schools. I also have some tips to share around creating an effective ILC. I\'m excited to meet with other educators exploring blended/hybrid learning in order to exchange ideas.
